Conductive copper sulfide thin films on polyimide foils

چکیده

Kapton polyimide is known for its high thermal stability, >400 ◦C. Copper sulfide thin films of 75 and 100 nm thickness were coated on DuPont Kapton HN polyimide foils of 25 μm thickness by floating them on a chemical bath containing copper complexes and thiourea. The coated foils were annealed at 150–400 ◦C in nitrogen, converting the coating from CuS to Cu1.8S. The sheet resistance of the annealed coatings (100 nm) is 10–50 / and electrical conductivity, 2–10×103 −1 cm−1, which remain nearly constant even after the foils are immersed in 0.1–1 M HCl for 30–120 min. The coated polyimide has a transmittance (25–35%) peak located in the wavelength region 550–600 nm, with transmittance dropping to near zero below 450 nm and below 10% in the near-infrared spectral region. These characteristics are relevant in solar radiation control applications. The coated foils might also be used as conductive substrates for electrolytic deposition of metals and semiconductors and for optoelectronic device structures.

Synthesis of Cu2ZnSnS4 thin films directly onto conductive substrates via selective thermolysis using microwave energy.

Copper zinc tin sulfide (CZTS) thin films were deposited from homogeneous solutions of precursors and directly onto conductive films via selective thermolysis by microwave heating. Microwave energy is absorbed strongly by conductive films, which enables preferential heating to a sufficiently high temperature for the deposition of CZTS exclusively on the conductive layer without homogeneous nucl...

Ink Jet Printed Thin Films on Glass and Polyimide Substrates

Silver conductive thin films deposited on glass and polyimide substrates by using ink jet printing are studied in this work. Characterization of the printed thin films and comparison with sputtered films are investigated. The micro texture, residual stress, adhesion, hardness, optical reflectance, and electric resistance of the thin films are discussed. The result shows that the ink jet printin...

Development of a Flexible Lead-Free Piezoelectric Transducer for Health Monitoring in the Space Environment

In this work we report on the fabrication process for the development of a flexible piezopolymeric transducer for health monitoring applications, based on lead-free, piezoelectric zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films. All the selected materials are compatible with the space environment and were deposited by the RF magnetron sputtering technique at room temperature, in view of preserving the total flexib...
